It looks like Pippa Middleton has gone and made a major error in judgement, as she continues to write about her food experiences around the world, for her column in the Telegraph newspaper. Pippa recently wrote how she tried some smoked whale carpaccio, before going on to describe what it tasted like, which has seen her land in hot water with the animal rights group PETA.
Elisa Allen, the associate director of PETA, recently told E! News, "Pippa is not known for common sense or compassion, but it still beggars belief that anyone, let alone someone from a country like ours, where whale meat has long been banned, could be oblivious to the uproar over Norway's slaughter of these gentle giants,"
She added, "Does she think or read? What's next, a panda steak or an elephant canapé? These whales are harpooned and bled to death before they're gutted. If Pippa is looking for a culinary experience, some of the best high-end vegan food—recently named by Forbes magazine as a top food trend—can be found in Norway, and it's good for the heart, an organ Pippa seems to lack."
It was expected that Pippa Middleton would want to get away from the negative press as soon as possible, by issuing a public apology about her whale eating comments, but she has yet to even acknowledge her remarks. Pippa is currently busy helping her pregnant sister Kate Middleton but it would not take long for her or one of her representatives to come out and issue a statement. Let's hope she sees sense soon.
