It’s common knowledge that Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey have been having a rough couple of days on the set of American Idol, and it seems that even President Obama knows about their feud.
Obama was recently on Michael Yo’s Miami radio show and when he was asked about the feud, he had an interesting answer showing how in tune he is with America’s pop culture. He said, ““I think they are going to be able to sort it out. I am confident. I am all about bringing people together, working for the same cause. I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure that they’re moving forward and not going backwards.”
Obama has previously called Mariah Carey a ‘wonderful lady’, and has also said glowing things about her husband Nick Cannon, who has done events before with the government and the White House.
Obama’s also asked how he would do on American Idol, and he replies that he would do poorly, and would make sure to ‘keep his day job’.
There has been an outspoken segment of the population that is convinced that Carey and Minaj are putting on their feud as a ploy to increase ratings for American Idol – however, it’s an unlikely scenario as producers wouldn’t want to risk either of their main stars not following through on their contracts.
