London rapper Professor Green has hit out at the BBC after they decided to drop Will Young from the judging panel of The Voice UK at the last minute. Will was all set to be one of the judges on the UK version of the hit singing competition but the BBC have decided to drop him in favour of The Script’s Danny O’Donohue, who has been dubbed as Danny O’Dono-WHO on Twitter.
Professor Green explained, "No one knows who Danny is. That's really s*** that they dumped Will for him.” He then continued by adding, “He would have been perfect for that job. He really knows what he is talking about when it comes to making music... I liked him."
It certainly seems strange that someone like Professor Green would be friends with and defending someone such as Will Young, given their difference in music but the two bonded on Sky Arts' The Jo Whiley Music Show. Danny O’Donohue will now join the rest of the judging panel, which is made up of Tom Jones, will.i.am and Jessie J. The Voice UK is set to air later this year.
