When a free skier mentions the name Rachael Burks they usually do so with respect about what she has accomplished as the female skier known for performing backflips and earning mention in prominent skiing magazines such as Powder magazine. Unfortunately if one were to mention her name outside of the free skiing community she is basically an unknown and while many would like to blame the media it may be in part due to the fact that Rachel Burks has no desire to be part of the mainstream.
A search of Rachael Burks on the Internet will bring forth many pictures of her skiing which is great but for someone so intelligent she must realize that it is almost impossible for potential endorsers or fans to know who she is if she is unwilling to pose for pictures without her snow apparel. Men and women would love to know who this free skiing legend is but other than the odd picture of her face she is basically unknown which means that a literal legend within the free skiing community is making herself someone whom the average fan cannot even begin to know.
Rachael Burks has been a role model for many young women who love free skiing but as a role model she needs to realize that if she were to allow herself to be seen in pictures on the Internet or photo shoots she and the free skiing community would benefit. Even though she may not want to be an endorser for a sporting apparel company the attention she would bring to the sport of free skiing could lead to great corporate funds directed toward competitions.
The name Rachael Burks should not just be known to those within the sport of free skiing as she is too great an skier but when you hide yourself under your ski apparel that is all the world can know. Let's hope that in 2014 Rachel Burks will show people that one can be beautiful, intelligent, strong and fun all at the same time because she is that person.
