As we are all very aware, while there are plenty of stars in Hollywood who come through as child stars and go on to enjoy success in the acting industry as adults, there are also those who actually had to do real jobs before getting their big break. One such star, who spent years doing regular jobs, is The Notebook actress Rachel McAdams, who is now one of the most sought after actresses in Hollywood.
Before getting her big break, Rachel McAdams grew up and lived in a small town, not too dissimilar from her character in The Notebook and, before getting her big break and becoming a huge Hollywood star, Rachel worked in one of the most famous food chains in the world ... McDonald's, although she admits that she was never going to win any employee of the month awards.
A few years back, McAdams explained, "I had a small-town life -- I worked at the local McDonald's for three years. I'm not sure why they kept me: I am something of a daydreamer and a dawdler, so they would only let me be the 'friendly voice' that greeted you when you entered the restaurant. I was slow -- I would be organizing the sweet-and-sour packets in the customer's takeout bag while the line snaked out the door. Even at a fast-food restaurant, I wanted everything just so."
Now though, Rachel McAdams is enjoying a long and successful acting career as one of the best actresses in Hollywood. Rachel is currently filming the movie Southpaw, along with Jake Gyllenhaal, Lupita Nyong'o, and Forest Whitaker. Southpaw is directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by Kurt Sutter, with a release date yet to be determined.
