Following the success of the 2009 movie Sherlock Holmes, which saw Hollywood superstar Robert Downey Jr. taking on the titular character, it did not take long for a sequel to get given the green light and go into production. Then, in 2011, we got the sequel Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, which also did well enough for there to be talk of a possible third instalment of the franchise.
Since then though, Robert Downey Jr. has found himself becoming very in demand, especially since he plays the role of Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Meanwhile, Jude Law, who plays the role of Watson in the films, has admitted that he would be open to a Sherlock Holmes 3, should the opportunity ever arise, although he too has kept himself busy over the past few years.
Then we have the beautiful actress Rachel McAdams, who played the role of Irene Adler in the Sherlock Holmes movies,. Rachel has now joined Robert Downey Jr. as part of the Marvel family, as she is set to appear in the new Doctor Strange movie, starring alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, but would she be interested in getting the gang back together for Sherlock Holmes 3?
Well there has been plenty of talk about Sherlock Holmes 3 still being in development and Robert Downey Jr recently admitted that there is still a plan to make the new film. We have heard it so many times over the past few years though, that until the movie actually goes into production, we are going to take everything we hear about the project with a pinch of salt.
