Raquel Castro began her acting career as a child star, appearing in Sesame Street and Nick Jr, but her big break came when she was cast in the role of Gertie Trinke in the popular film Jersey Girl (2004) with super stars Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. You may also remember her in her first minor role as Moira Kenney in the television series Third Watch (2002).
Castro has since appeared on an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2005) in the role of Emma Boyd. Raquel was also a contestant in the popular TV series The Voice (2011), appearing as herself and showing the world that she can sing. She made it through to the quarter finals of the competition.
Raquel was also involved in minor roles in films including Little Fugitive (2006) as Destiny; Tracks of Color (2007) as Carmen; Brooklyn's Finest (2009) in the role of Katherine. She also appeared in the TV movie America (2009) as Liza; The Ministers (2009) as Nereida and in the short video Raquel Castro - Diary (2012), in which she is the lead singer as she highlights her musical inclinations.
Castro is currently involved in the filming of a new film titled Lovin' Brooklyn which is slated 2014. The film is in it's pre-production phase of development. Raquel is playing the role of Vicky Lynn, which is the starring role, receiving top billing in the cast. Fans are excited to see her performance in this new venture.
