Regina King is one of those actresses that you just know will stick around for a long, long time. She has been working steadily since breaking out in 'Miss Congeniality', and she's had some high-profile roles in the past couple of years.
Although her show 'Southland' just got cancelled after several seasons on the air, she will no doubt have plenty more opportunities in the years to come. Her TV shows in the past couple of years have showcased both her ability for drama as well as comedy, and there's no doubt that she will either land an awards-bait film or a lead role in a television series within the year.
She showcased her action skills in '24' in 2007 as Sandra Palmer, and then starred in 'Our Family Wedding' in 2010. She also showcases her comedic timing and skill with her recurring guest appearances as Janine Davis in the Big Bang Theory. Then, she of course starred as Detective Lydia Adams on 'Southland' from 2009 to 2013.
However, she already has a TV movie called 'Divorce: A Love Story' currently in pre-production, and we will probably start hearing about more attachments within the year's end.
