(We Are Rengagades), was also his first independent album release. It’s themes included the struggle to be original while maintaining a place in the hip hop industry, battling the industry’s constant demands to conform, and the problems of being a black male in American society.
is next album, P.T.S.D. will be a follow up to W.A.R. Pharoahe recently told MTV that it will be a more emotional and personal album, and sprouted from his experience with depression. His depression was compounded by his asthma. The album will be a metaphor for the soldier from W.A.R., and how he deals with the aftermath of his combat with the industry.
