Ricky Hatton vs Michael Katsidis November 24: Easy comeback or underrated underdog?

Fans favourite and former two weight world champion Ricky Hatton revealed earlier this month that he would be making his boxing comeback and now he has confirmed his hopes for his opponent. Ricky has announced that he hopes to be fighting at the Manchester Arena with Australian Michael Katsidis as his opponent.

Many people may remember Katsidis from his demolition of Kevin Mitchell a few years back and this may have you thinking that Hatton is taking a big risk. Katsidis is known as a big puncher and has knocked 23 opponents during his 28 victories, another point which could make people wonder what Ricky is doing.

However, Ricky Hatton is playing it smart. He is going in against a guy who has proven punching power and has a reputation as a very good fighter. The good news for Hatton is the fact that Michael Katsidis has lost four of his last five fights and is also moving up from lightweight to fight Ricky Hatton.

Many people were expecting Ricky Hatton to walk straight back into a title fight, with many naming Paulie Malignaggi as his opponent. That would be a silly move and by fighting Katsidis, Ricky will get some much needed ring time and should win very convincing while getting his name back in contention.

We believe that Ricky Hatton will walk straight over Michael Katsidis and if he does not knock him out, it will be a very convinving points victory. What do you think?
