There has been a lot of talks in recent weeks about the next instalment of the Ridley Scott movie Blade Runner, whether it be a prequel, a sequel, a remake or a reboot but it seems that even Ridley is not too sure on that. Ridley has been meeting with Hampton Fancher, who penned the original Blade Runner screenplay but, as of yet, the new Blade Runner is still without a script.
Scott explained, “We’re still in discussions about whether it should be a prequel or sequel. I’m meeting with writers and I’ve also gone back to Hampton Fancher, and he still speaks the speak” He then discussed the rumours that Harrison Ford would be returning for the next instalment of Blade Runner.
Ridley added, “I’m not sure that that’s going to be a story point, so I don’t know. But if it were, nothing would please me more. Honestly.” Ridley Scott’s next film to hit the big screen will be the Alien prequel Prometheus and Ridley said of the movie, “I’m also thinking about what the hell I might do for a Prometheus 2.” Prometheus stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron and is set to be released on June 8, 2012.
