Rihanna has opened up about her bust-up with ex boyfriend Chris Brown, 23, in 2009 and admitted that the brutal end to their relationship was traumatic.
It has been rumoured that the former lovers have been secretly dating since the incident at a pre-Grammy party, but Chris's camp insist he is loved-up with current girlfriend Karrueche Tran, 24.
Now Rihanna has been discussing the event with chat show legend Oprah Winfrey, discussing her ex and the night she ended up with a battered face.
'It was embarrassing it was humiliating... I lost my best friend,' says Rihanna, 24, in an interview recorded in Barbados last week.
And Oprah admitted that she changed her perception of Rihanna during their tearful conversation.
'I thought she was gonna be kind of a badass, a kind of hard edged, rocker, pop woman. Nothing could have been farther from the truth,' says the chat show host.
'She was thoughtful... She was very emotional... She was vulnerable.'

Rihanna was recently dropped by beauty giant Nivea after it emerged that her image was too raunchy for the family brand. But that doesn't seem to have bothered the singer who has been enjoying the company of Tinie Tempah.
A source told British newspaper The Sun: 'Rihanna loves Tinie’s music and is fond of him as a person, too. She’s very keen to work with him at some point, which was discussed at length over dinner.
