It is no secret that music superstar Rihanna has a love of acting and enjoys taking on the occasional acting project, as she has already appeared in a number of movies during her career, with plenty more lined up for the coming years. While she is already considered one of the top music stars on the planet, it looks like Rihanna can also hold her own among the best that Hollywood has to offer.
Fans of Rihanna will see the star appearing in the upcoming new movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which sees her sharing the big screen with model turned actress Cara Delevingne. Now, director Luc Besson, who was responsible for casting Rihanna in the movie, has been talking about working with the star, heaping plenty of praise on her and Cara.
Besson was doing an interview with Collider, when he told them, "She was definitely serious about it and very low profile about it. The hard part was just to get her on set. (Delevingne and Rihanna) have something in common – they don’t fear. When they trust the director, they really let you in. They let you manipulate them. They’re not scared of looking ridiculous. They don’t care. They just give. For me – it’s just what you want. You want to have someone open up."
As well as starring Rihanna and Cara Delevingne, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets also stars John Goodman, Dane DeHaan, Clive Owen, and Ethan Hawke, among others. Luc Besson also penned the screenplay for the movie, as well as directing, with Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets set to hit the big screen on July 21 in the US and August 4 in the UK.
