It is a great time to be a person living in Rio de Janeiro right now what with the 2014 FIFA World Cup taking place in Brazil and the 2016 Olympics being held in Rio. However, it is the Rio Film Festival which is having a big boost for Brazil at the moment, showing the best of what Brazilian Cinema has to offer.

Rio Film Festival is underway
Ilda Santiago, the co-producer of the Rio Festival, said of the event, "Our primary goal has always been to have our eyes open to what is happening in Brazil, Brazilian cinema and international co-productions.“
She added, "Also, producers see the festival has grown to be an important platform for them. It can really create buzz, can really add something to releases, be that in Brazil or around the world. Brazil’s industry still has a long way to go but it’s far more solid these day, allowing for different formats, issues and ideas."

Dakota Fanning will attend
As well as showcasing some of the best talent in Brazil, the Rio Festival also has some impressive Hollywood stars on show, with the likes of Dakota Fanning on hand to present Night Moves this weekend. The Rio Film Festival takes place from September 26 until October 10.
