Singer Rita Ora has developed quite a large fanbase all over the world over the past few years and a lot of her fans were very excited when it was announced that she was going to perform her song I Will Never Let You Down at the Teen Choice Awards. However, these fans were very disappointed when Rita pulled out of the performance at the last minute.
While a lot of people criticised Rita Ora for pulling out of her performance at the Teen Choice Awards at such short notice, it seems that they did not know the full facts. Rita has now confirmed that he ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris refused to let her sing the song but waited as long as he possibly could before letting her know.
Ora was a guest on the Ryan Seacrest radio show, when she explained to him the full situation, "For anybody who doesn't understand how it works, he wrote and produced the song, so he has to approve anything TV-wise... and he didn't approve the Teen Choice Awards. I could have got told a few weeks earlier, you know."
She added, "That would have been nice. It was a last minute change, but, you know what, it happens and we move on and move forward... It is what it is, man. You write a song with somebody, and I guess there's some stuff that comes with it... Everything happens for a reason, that's how I look at it."
While Calvin Harris refused to allow Rita Ora to perform the track I Will Never Let You Down at the Teen Choice Awards, she was kind enough to give an acoustic performance of the track while talking to Ryan Seacrest. Rita insists that, despite her differences with Calvin, she is still very proud of the song and believes it is one of her biggest and best hits to date.
