Rob McElhenney is a writer, director, and an actor. He is most famous for his role on the comedy television series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Rob has dedicated a majority of his career to developing and producing the show. He has been acting since 1997 and is still very active in his work.
Rob is currently working on creating the tenth season of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” The show was approved to air on FXX on March 28, 2013. Season nine of the show finished airing on November 6, 2013. Rob was responsible for writing the first episode of the ninth season and also acted in each of the subsequent episodes.
In 2008, Rob married Kaitlin Olson, his costar. For a previous season of the show, Rob purposefully gained approximately fifty pounds just to make his character more humorous. Aside from acting in his own show, Rob has made two appearances in J.J. Abrams's television drama “LOST.” He also made an appearance in Law and Order and hosted a panel discussion for the creative cast of “Game of Thrones” in 2013.
