Take That singer Robbie Williams has played in front of the Queen on a number of occasions but insists that she has no idea who he is. Robbie joked that, on the previous two times that he met the Queen, she thought he was a member of congress and a dog trainer.
Williams explained, “I have had the pleasure of singing for the Queen this week. She hasn't got a clue who I am. I did the Queen's Jubilee this summer. I sang ‘Let Me Entertain You’. After, I met the Queen and shook her hand. She thought I was a member of congress.”
Robbie was also recently involved in the Royal Variety Performance, which included Britain’s Got Talent winner Ashleigh Butler and her dog Pudsey. Williams added, “At the Royal Variety Performance, in the line-up afterwards, we were shaking hands... and she thought I was Pudsey's trainer.”
Robbie Williams is currently enjoying a nice “I told you so” moment, after Radio One breakfast DJ Nick Grimshaw declared that he would not be playing any of his songs, as he is too old and no longer relevant. However, Robbie continues to sell records and fill stadiums.
