There was once a time when Hollywood legend Robert De Niro was one of the most sought after actors on the planet, with movie makers all over the world wanting to work with the talented superstar. This led to Robert landing roles in some very dramatic and gritty films, giving us some of the best performances the movie industry has ever seen, cementing his place as one of the greatest Hollywood movie stars ever.

With nothing left to prove to the acting industry, or the world for that matter, these days Robert De Niro seems to prefer taking on more light-hearted roles and looks to enjoy starring in comedy movies more than anything else. Robert can currently be seen on the big screen in the new movie Dirty Grandpa and he will then follow that up with the planned film The Comedian.
In The Comedian, we will see Robert De Niro taking on the role of a veteran comedian, who has perfected his act on the insults of others, sometimes pushing the boundaries a bit too far. The Comedian will focus on the life of the aging insult comic as he comes to terms with the changing industry, along with the changes in the world as a whole.

While we will see Robert De Niro taking on the male lead in The Comedian, he will be joined in the movie by the very funny and very talented Leslie Mann. The Comedian is set to get directed by Taylor Hackford, with the view of moving into production within the next few weeks or months. There is no release date yet but we will keep you posted on that one.
