With the amount of new Marvel characters that are coming to the big screen over the course of the next few years, there has been a lot of talk about when we are going to see solo movies for some of the characters we have already seen in Marvel movies. A lot of people have called for Scarlett Johansson to get her own Black Widow solo movie and now Robert Downey Jr. has given his views.
Downey Jr. was chatting to USA Today, when he told them, "It would be kind of more appropriate for a character that already was like a Black Widow [to lead a movie]. It just seems like whatever Scarlett does people want to go see it. The funny thing is honestly at this point everyone deserves a franchise."
As well as talking abut the possibility of seeing Scarlett Johansson in a Black Widow solo movie, Robert Downey Jr. also went on to talk about which other characters he thinks deserve to get their own movie. Robert says that Jeremy Renner is brilliant as Hawkeye in Avengers: Age of Ultron, while he would also love to see Mark Ruffalo in a Hulk solo movie.
Downey Jr. added, "I think Jeremy Renner is — when folks see the Avengers: Age of Ultron he’s just a rockstar, a badass. And Ruffalo is pumped. He does great (work). I’d like to hear them talk even more seriously about a Hulk franchise, because that’s been one of the toughest ones to get right. But I’m sure that my parent company is feeling expansive and bold after the summer they’ve had."
Fans can next see Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, along with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, when the Marvel movie sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron opens on April 24, 2015 in the UK and May 1, 2015 in the US.
