The Avengers actor Robert Downey Jr has played Tony Stark aka Iron Man on three occasions already and he is set to appear on the big screen as Iron Man again, for the fourth time, in Iron Man 3. Robert has been talking about his role as Iron Man and says that he thought it was destiny that he won the role.
During an interview with Esquire Magazine, Downey Jr explained, "I think Iron Man wound up being the first time I screen-tested since Chaplin. As far as I was concerned, it was destiny."
He added, "Now, I can't tell you how many people are sitting around with the cold, hard evidence that it wasn't. I just wasn't going to let lack of perseverance, lack of preparation, or lack of prayer get in the way. I just went crazy - in a good way."
As well as starring Robert Downey Jr, Iron Man 3 also stars Don Cheadle, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall and Jon Favreau. Iron Man 3 is this time directed by Shane Black and is set to be released on April 26 in the UK and May 3 in the US.
