Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer has confirmed that he has got one goal on his mind for the 2012 tennis season and that is reclaiming his World No.1 spot, which is currently held by Novak Djokovic. Roger, who has won 16 Grand Slam titles in his career so far, admitted that his good run of form towards the end of the current season has definitely put him in good shape to make a challenge.
Federer explained, “I felt like I played great during these last few weeks and it gives me a lot of confidence for next year. But regardless of how it went here, I would have been in a good state of mind for next year. And I think that counts for all the other top guys as well.”
Another target for Roger Federer in 2012 would be to add a 17th Grand Slam title to his current impressive haul. Federer added that being World Number One is high on his list of priorities but that it would not be easy. He stated, “Well, that’s a long way to go, but who knows? One day maybe I’ll get there.” It will certainly be quite a challenge but you can never write off Roger Federer.
