Following the early exits of Rafa Nadal and Andy Murray at this year's Wimbledon, Roger Federer has certainly become one of the favourites for this years tournament, with many suggesting it will be between him and Novak Djokovic now. However, it is not as easy as that and Roger still has to perform.
Roger Federer is currently preparing for his quarter-final match against Stan Wawrinka, which takes place on centre court following Andy Murray's recent loss. It will not be an easy match for Roger but the Swiss star has admitted that he is feeling confident in his game right now.
Federer explained, "Always excited to be in the quarterfinals here. Closer to the finish line rather than the very beginning. I feel like my game is right there. Things are exactly where I want to be."
However, Stan Wawrinka is not going to make it easy for Roger Federer and he has admitted that he himself is full of confidence. Stan won his first Grand Slam title earlier this year, in the Australian Open, and also beat Federer in the Monte Carlo final.
Wawrinka said, "Yeah, it's going to give me a lot of confidence about myself, knowing that I can beat him, doesn't matter where, on big stage. But it's going to be a different experience. First time on grass. First time Wimbledon. It going to depends a little bit on me, the way I'm going to play, the way I'm going to be aggressive on the court. I know that if I can do a good match, I'm going to have some chance."
