It has been over two years now, since Brazilian football legend Ronaldo decided to hang up his boots for good, but that has not taken away his competitive nature. Back in April, Ronaldo became and ambassador for PokerStars and has found himself competing with some of the best poker players around.
Ronaldo said at the time, "I always look to give my best in everything, in football and in life. Poker is another challenge that excites me. For me, there are a lot of similarities between football and poker – it takes a lot of mental discipline, practice and training."
It is not just Ronaldo who is an ambassador for PokerStars, who have a whole host of celebrity names endorsing the company, with the likes of Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal, German tennis legend Boris Becker, Dutch Olympic hockey player Fatima Moreira de Melo and Olympic gold medal winning Swedish cross-country skier Marcus Hellner.
With so many big name stars endorsing PokerStars, you can see why they are the biggest online poker site in the world but, with the likes of Virtuoso poker on the rise, they could well see a battle on their hands to retain that number one spot.
