Rooney Mara glad of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo break

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo actress Rooney Mara has admitted that she is glad to be having a break from her character Lisbeth Salander before filming for the sequel begins. Rooney claims that, while she thoroughly enjoyed her role in the David Fincher movie, she is pleased to be able to play other characters and work on other films before reprising her role.

Mara explained, "I'm happy to have a little break, but I am eager to revisit her. But, I'm happy to have a break first. For myself, it probably is easier to play a character who is much different, with an accent and who looks different and walks different. I find that much more enjoyable. But, at the same time, I felt like Lisbeth Salander was very familiar to me. We do have a lot in common. I think a little bit of both is good."
26 year old Rooney Mara has previously insisted that she prefers to play roles, which do not receive as much mainstream attention. You can next catch Rooney Mara on the big screen, when she appears alongside Channing Tatum, Jude Law and Catherine Zeta-Jones, in the Steven Soderbergh movie The Bitter Pill, which is set to be released in 2013.
