Actor Rory McCann is best known for his role as Sandor Clegane in the television series Game of Thrones (2011-13). Rory got his start in acting when he made his debut in the movie Ratcatcher (1999). He has since accumulated 25 credits in his portfolio. His acting style shows a definite flair for the dramatic, in which he excels.
McCann has also made appearances in television series such as Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)(2000), Monarch of the Glen (2000), London’s Burning (2002), The Book Group (2002-3), Rockface (2003), Shameless (2006), Heroes and Villains (2008), and The Jury II (2011).
Rory’s film repertoire includes Season of the Witch (2011), Clash of the Titans (2013), Solomon Kane (2009), The Crew (2008), Hot Fuzz (2007), Sixty Six (2006), Beowulf & Grendel (2005), Days of Darkness (2005), Alexander (2004), Peter in Paradise (2003), Young Adam (2003), The Devil’s Tattoo (2003), Pasty Faces (2000) and Coming Soon (1999).
Rory was born in Scotland, and has a tendency towards roles that call for heroic deeds and dramatic acting. He puts this over very well in an earthy and realistic manner. Although Rory McCann is a perfect fit in the action drama genre, he does very well in comedic situations such as the ribald comedy Shameless (2006). He has shown himself to be a versatile actor, and although there are no new films in the pipeline yet, his fans are looking forward to more from Rory in the near future.
