It has been reported that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will not be returning for the fourth instalment of the Transformers franchise. Rosie starred in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, replacing the fired Megan Fox as the love interest of Shia LaBeouf. However, it seems that an all new cast is set to come on board, with none of the regulars returning for Transformers 4.
An insider explained, “Rosie enjoyed being in the third film but action’s not really her bag. She doesn’t want to get typecast.” Meanwhile, Josh Duhamel, who has starred in all of the first three Transformers movies, admitted that he does not believe that any of the regulars or original cast members will be coming back for Transformers 4.
He added, “I don’t think anybody’s doing it. I know Shia LaBeouf is not doing it. I don’t think Tyrese Gibson or Rosie or anybody else is doing it.” Jason Statham has been tipped to become the main character in Transformers 4 but he has admitted that he has not yet been approached to do the movie. Transformers 4 is expected to be released in the summer of 2014.
