It has been reported that Russell Brand is moving on from his ex Katy Perry, by making a play for a woman who looks just like her. It is claimed that comedian Russell has got his eye on the New Girl actress Zooey Deschanel and that the two of them have been exchanging flirty text messages, with the hope of meeting up sometime in the near future.
An insider explained, "Russell has had his eye on Zooey for a long time. And he's been sending funny, flirty texts to see if they can get together.” The insider then added, “He thinks she's hysterically funny and cute, too. He loves her quirky sense of humour, and thinks they'd be great together both on-and off-screen. There's a real spark there."
Russell Brand and Katy Perry announced that they would be getting divorced, after weeks of rumours about a split, towards the end of last year. Meanwhile, Zooey Deschanel split from her husband Ben Gibbard at a similar time. Zooey Deschanel has previously admitted that she has been mistaken for Katy Perry, with people asking her for her autograph, thinking she is the Fireworks singer.
