English comedian Russell Brand was questioned recently about his split from his wife Katy Perry and rather than actually discussing the matter, Russell fired off an articulate rant as to why he would not discuss the matter. Russell claimed that, if there was actually any news worth commenting on, then he would but he does not feel that there is.
Brand explained, “I don't want to further celebrate the overly elaborate, brittle plastic structures of nonsense that are constantly fired into our minds to distract us from what's really important.” He then continued by adding, “So if I'd done something actually newsworthy... then I'd cover it. But if it was just more lacquered nonsense, designed to distract us from truth, then I would wisely ignore it.”
Russell Brand and Katy Perry decided to end their marriage last month with a number of rumours flying round as to why they decided to split. However, neither have given the real reason for the split. Russell Brand can next be seen on the big screen when he appears alongside Tom Cruise in the movie Rock of Ages, which is released on June 1, 2012.
