It seems that Ryan Giggs has become one of the favourites around Old Trafford to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson as the next manager of Manchester United. Sir Alex himself has stated that he believes Ryan Giggs to have the right temperament and a strong enough personality to be able to carry the responsibility of being the Manchester United manager. Now Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has added his voice to the Ryan Giggs fan club.
Scholes explained, “People have talked about Jose Mourinho. It can change quickly, it's about who is successful at the time. Whether they are British or foreign, you just want the best man for the job. I could see Ryan Giggs becoming manager.” Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs broke into the Manchester United team not to far apart from each other and it would not be surprising to see them both in coaching roles at Old Trafford when they hang up their boots.
Ryan Giggs is set to make his 900th appearance for Manchester United tonight, as they take on Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena in the Europa League. 38 year old Giggs is into his 21st season with Manchester United and recently signed a one year contract extension that will take it to 22. It is unlikely that Ryan Giggs could ever emulate in management what he has achieved as a player, but stranger things have happened.
