It seems that the whole of Hollywood has gone sequel crazy these days and even some of the biggest movie makers in the business have finally decided to get on board with the idea. One such movie make is the brilliant Ridley Scott, who has not only been working on new movies within his Alien franchise, but has also been working on the upcoming new movie Blade Runner 2049.
As well as having Harrison Ford returning as Rick Deckard in Blade Runner 2049, we are also getting to see Ryan Gosling joining the movie franchise, which could make for a fantastic pairing on the big screen. Ridley Scott has been talking about the future of the Blade Runner movie franchise, admitting that there could be future Blade Runner sequels, so could we see more of Harrison and Ryan together?
Scott told IGN, "You know what, ['Star Wars' creator George Lucas] has always proved that. Of course there's always something. George Lucas. You know, and the way he's handled 'Star Wars' has been spectacular. It's what I've been trying to do to really evolve 'Alien', because in those days I wasn't into making sequels. But now suddenly you realise, 'well, that's stupid.' I'll use the word 'duh' again, right? You'd better get into sequels, duh. So, that's in a way what I've been doing."
Blade Runner 2049 is being directed by Denis Villeneuve, with the movie set to hit the big screen on October 6 in both the US and the UK. We guess the box office takings will decide whether we do get any future Blade Runner sequels.
