Ryan Gosling stars in the forthcoming movie Drive, in which he plays a stuntman who moonlights as a getaway driver before discovering that he has a hit on his head. Ryan admitted that he found it difficult doing the car chasing scenes, made famous by Steve McQueen.
Gosling said, "Well, I don't think I did a very good job but we tried. We basically tried to make it like a guy who has seen too many Steve McQueen movies and has sort of fashioned himself after them, trying to make his life like a movie.” He then added, "I like to drive, one of my favourite things to do is drive around LA at night listening to music. There's like a spell that gets put on you when you drive, when you get in your car and then you arrive where you’re going and you don't remember driving, also the movies do that to you."
Ryan then concluded, "I always loved to drive but I never really cared about cars," he admitted, "I kind of get it now, I see what's attractive about it." Drive is directed by Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn and will also star British actress Carey Mulligan as Ryan Gosling’s love interest. Drive is set to be released in the US on September 16 and will then hit the UK a week later on September 23.
