There was a lot of talk in the press last week regarding Sacha Baron Cohen and his possible appearance at the Oscars 2012 last night. At first the actor was banned from appearing at the Oscars 2012 dressed as his latest character from his new film The Dictator. However, he was then invited to the Oscars 2012 but only if he DID appear as his The Dictator character.
Well the Oscars 2012 took place last night and Sacha Baron Cohen did indeed turn up as The Dictator character General Aladeen and he brought along a little surprise with him. Sacha, accompanied by two stunning women in military uniform, was carrying an urn, with the face of the late North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il, to give the impression that he was carrying his ashes.
When approached by Ryan Seacrest, Sacha Baron Cohen proceeded to spill the ashes of Kim Jong Il on the suit of the American Idol host. While some people found it rather amusing, one actor was not so impressed by the show. Jonah Hill stated that he did not feel that it was right for somebody to be upselling their own movie at the Oscars.
Jonah explained, "I guess the Oscars isn't the best place to sell your movie. I think he's a funny guy, though." Check out the video below, now, of Sacha Baron Cohen spilling Kim Jong Il’s ashes on Ryan Seacrest.
