Hollywood actress Salma Hayek has been a long time supporter of women's rights and has spoken passionately on the subject on many occasions, so it is no surprise that she has once again opened up about the struggles that women face. Salma says that the one thing that she wants more than anything, is for women to be valued and respected throughout the World.
Hayek told Harper's Bazaar, "Women are strong by nature. Unfortunately, we don't identify with our strength so easily. It is not easy to be a woman. I'd like to see the life of a woman valued and respected around the world. It is incredible to think that at this time in history there are many places where we do not have basic human rights."
She added, "My mom was famous for her cooking. One day I asked her to teach me. She refused, saying that hopefully I would find a better thing to do with my life than spend all day in the kitchen. I was motivated by the women in my family to go out in the world and do great things. And so I did, but I must confess I do love cooking."
As for her acting career, Salma Hayek can be seen, starring with Adam Sandler, David Spade, Chris Rock and Kevin James, in the movie Grown Ups 2. Dennis Dugan returns to direct Grown Ups 2, which opens on July 12 in the US and then on August 9 in the UK.
