There are a lot of hugely talented and very successful British actors in Hollywood these days and, when you look at a lot of the roles that British actors play, there are plenty of movie villain roles taken up by British actors. While most Hollywood stars dream of playing a superhero on the big screen, it seems that there are some who would rather go for the villain role.
British actor Sam Claflin has found himself playing some very interesting characters in some decent Hollywood movies over the past few years but he has admitted that he is loving what is happening with comic book movies these days. Sam says that he is impressed with the direction Marvel and DC's recent comic book movies have taken over the past few years and would love to get involved.
Claflin told Collider, "It's definitely something that interests me, I mean I love those movies and I am constantly surprised by them, they could have gone down the cheesy route, but they have been reinvented and are just genius. I mean what Christopher Nolan has done with the [Batman] is incredible."
Sam then admitted that he is finding himself drawn to villain roles these days, "What I've enjoyed most recently is being a villain in this black comedy film 'Posh', and it's something I really enjoyed playing on the darker side of life, so having the opportunity to play a villain would be pretty epic," added Claflin.
You can see Sam Claflin in that role of a villain in Posh, starring alongside an impressive cast including Natalie Dormer, Jessica Brown Findlay and Douglas Booth, when the movie hits the big screen on September 19 in the UK.
Do you think Sam Claflin would make a good comic book movie villain?
