Today is the last day that fans can vote for their favourite model in the battle for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2014 Rookie of the Year award and with a record 12 models in the running this year, it is going to be tighter than ever, One model who is up for the Rookie of the Year award, following her debut in the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, is American beauty Samantha Hoopes.
It has been quite an interesting journey for Samantha Hoopes, who always wanted to become a gym teacher and a coach, due to her love of field hockey. However, Samantha was encouraged to give it up and focus on her modelling career, which has paid off for her in a big way. While her close friends and family keep telling her that modelling will not last forever, Hoopes feels that it is now or never.
Samantha Hoopes decided to move to Hollywood last year and the 23-year-old insists that it was one of the best decisions of her life, "I moved to Hollywood last year, I felt so liberated and like a different person. I could wake up and choose what I wanted to do. For once in my life I’m following my heart instead of doing what people tell me to do," and we would have to agree.
Samantha Hoopes is unlikely to win the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2014 Rookie of the Year, as she goes up against the likes of Emily Ratajkowski, Cris Urena, Valarie Van Der Graaf, Lily Aldridge, Sara Sampaio, Lauren Mellor, Hannah Ferguson, Chanel Iman, Marloes Horst, Gigi Hadid and Bregje Heinen. Good luck to all involved.
