The new Quentin Tarantino movie Django Unchained has a scene that sees actress Kerry Washington getting whipped. Now, Kerry, along with her co-stars Samuel L Jackson and Don Johnson, have been talking about the eeriness of filming at the location for that scene.

Washington explained, “We shot on Evergreen Plantation in Louisiana which was an actual slave plantation. That lent itself to disappearing into the story because you felt like you were making a film on sacred ground. You felt like you were re-enacting these where crimes against humanity were committed.”
Samuel L Jackson then chipped in by saying to his co-star, “When you were being whipped all the bugs stopped making noise and the birds stopped singing. It was eerie.” Meanwhile, Don Johnson also found that there was an interesting connection between his wardrobe assistant and the movie set.

Don added, “My dresser who helped me get in my costume every day found out her ancestors were buried in the cemetery on the plantation.”
As well as Kerry Washington, Samuel L Jackson and Don Johnson, Django Unchained also stars Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio and is set to be released in the US on December 25 and in the UK on January 18, 2013.
