Samuel L Jackson has played the Marvel character Nick Fury in a number of Marvel movies and still has a few more films to do as the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Samuel claims that he was surprised by how huge The Avengers movie was and puts it all down to director Joss Whedon.

Jackson explained, “I was surprised. Nobody expects a movie to become a juggernaut. You expect a certain number of people to go and see it. The Avengers was a [frick]ing juggernaut. It was amazing. All the credit totally goes to Joss [Whedon] because he wrote a movie being a comic-book fan, being a person who understands the genre. He’s the first person to make a comic-book movie right by making sure the comic part was in it.”
He added, “We didn't realize while were standing there doing it that it would be that awesome. I was never there when the Hulk was actually the Hulk, which was a major part of the success of that film. Who knew the Hulk could be that funny?” Samuel then went on to talk about The Avengers sequel, as well as other Marvel movie sequels.

Jackson said, “It's [definitely] coming. Joss has already been hired to write that. I think my next time as Nick Fury is in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Because I’m not in Iron Man 3. None of the Avengers are in Iron Man 3. It’s a standalone Iron Man movie.”
Samuel L Jackson can next be seen on the big screen in the Quentin Tarantino movie Django Unchained, starring alongside an all star cast including Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Kerry Washington. Django Unchained is released in the US on December 25 and in the UK on January 18, 2013.
