Violet & Daisy has been one of those films that seems to be taking years to release in theaters. It was shot several years ago, starring Alexis Bledel and a then unknown Saoirse Ronan. It was originally supposed to be coming out in 2011, but the release date got pushed back to June 2013.
Now, it seems as though the film will finally release this summer, and we're starting to get some new promotional material for that release.
A new poster for the film has been released; it features close-ups of Bledel and Ronan's faces with them holding lollipops up to their lips, and the caption above them reading, "Too much sugar can kill you." The synopsis for the story, per IMDB, is "Two teenage assassins accept what they think will be a quick-and-easy job, until an unexpected target throws them off their plan."
This isn't the first time that Ronan has played a teenage assassin [Hanna], although it is a bit of departure from Bledel's usual role choices. 'Violet & Daisy' comes out in limited release in June, and in addition to Ronan and Bledel, stars Danny Trejo, James Gandolfini, Cody Horn, Tatiana Maslany, John Ventimiglia, and Cassidy Hinkle.
