Following the enormous global success of the Twilight movies, which were adapted from the hit novels, author Stephenie Meyer is hoping to have further success, with her novel The Host now being given the big screen adaptation treatment.

The Host novel cover
While it is unlikely that The Host will be anywhere near as successful as the Twilight movies, it is still expected to fair very well at the box office and does have an impressive cast for the movie. With The Host set to be released in just a few weeks time, we have been getting plenty of promotional material for the film.
We have already had trailers and posters, as well as production stills and we have now been given a brand new trailer for The Host, which stars Saoirse Ronan and Jake Abel. This latest trailer for The Host manages to finally explain a little more about the story of the movie and will certainly tempt those of you who are unsure, into going to see it.

The Host scene
This trailer is a lot more action packed than the previous two trailers, showcasing a different side to the film than fans may expect. While the movie will definitely focus on the love triangle between the main characters, this trailer seems to show that the film will also not play down the sci-fi aspects of the story.
Of course, as it’s directed by Andrew Niccol [In Time, Gattaca, S1mone], so the focus on the sci-fi is to be expected. The film also looks like it has far better acting and production values that any of the Twilight movies, which might be a huge draw for anybody who’s not a fan of Stephenie Meyer. Overall, while the last trailer did a good job of appealing to Meyer’s existing fanbase, this trailer will do a solid job of attracting moviegoers outside that group.
As well as starring Saoirse Ronan and Jake Abel, The Host also stars Max Irons, Diane Kruger, William Hurt and Boyd Holbrook. The Host is written and directed by Andrew Niccol and is set to be released on March 29 in both the US and the UK.
