Saoirse Ronan has been on the brink of breaking out for a long time now. She received an Academy Award nomination at the young age of 13, and then proceeded to show off her acting skills in a variety of different films, including ‘The Lovely Bones’ and ‘Hanna’. Although both movies thrust her into Hollywood’s spotlight, her acting skill seems to far exceed that of movies that she chooses. Critics often call her the best thing about her movies, but hopefully that will change in 2013.

Saoirse Ronan arrives to a talk show
She’s got a potential franchise in Stephenie Meyer and Andrew Niccol’s ‘The Host’, two smaller movies in ‘Byzantium’ and ‘How I Live Now’, and she is currently shooting Wes Anderson’s ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ with Ralph Fiennes, Jude Law, and Edward Norton. She has now added Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut ‘How to Catch a Monster’ to her schedule.
Gosling already has a talented list of actors for the movie, and Ronan just adds to the caliber of the project. In addition to Ronan, Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes, Matt Smith, and Ben Mendelsohn are all signed on to the film.

The film is rumored to start shooting in Detroit this Spring, and there’s a very high possibility that we may see Gosling and company at next year’s Sundance if the film finishes in time.
