There was a lot of talk, anticipation and build up to the release of the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, with many giving their views on which model we would see on the cover of the huge annual publication. Once we discovered that three women had landed the cover, Nina Agdal, Chrissy Teigen and Lily Aldridge, and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2014, all eyes then turned to the Rookie Class.
This year saw Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue give us their biggest Rookie Class ever, with 12 beautiful models all in the running for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2014 Rookie of the Year award. The nominees for Rookie of the Year were Emily Ratajkowski, Lily Aldridge, Sara Sampaio, Hannah Ferguson, Gigi Hadid, Bregje Heinen, Lauren Mellor, Chanel Iman, Valerie Van Der Graaf, Marloes Horst, Samantha Hoopes and Cris Urena.
Voting has been taking place since the release of the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, before it closed yesterday evening, with the official results being confirmed today. It has now been revealed that the stunning Portuguese model Sara Sampaio has been crowned Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2014 Rookie of the Year.
Just a couple of days ago we told you how Sara Sampaio had become the favourite to win the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2014 Rookie of the Year and it looks like we were right. Sara has had a successful career to date but winning this will no doubt give her career an extra added boost.
Emily Ratajkowski had been campaigning hard for the Rookie of the Year but came in third, behind the winner Sara Sampaio and second place Hannah Ferguson. Congratulations Sara Sampaio.
