Actress Sarah Hyland stars alongside Glee’s Chris Colfer in the movie Struck by Lightning and admits that she wanted to be involved in the movie because of Chris. Sarah says that she found the script to be phenomenal and was willing to do whatever it took to be in the film.
Hyland told Collider, “What drew me to the film was Chris and the fact that he wrote this script and it’s such a phenomenal script. Claire, I was just like, ‘if there’s any role in it, I wanna be in it’ and Claire just happens to be a stereotypical cheerleader and not so nice to Carson. She’s kind of the antagonist and loves to be mean to him but she has a reason and she needs a way to make herself feel important.”
Stuck by Lightning centres around a young man who has been struck and killed by lightning. This leads to the young man recounting the ways in which he blackmailed a lot of his fellow classmates into contributing to his literary magazine.
As well as starring Sarah Hyland, Struck by Lightning also stars Rebel Wilson, Christina Hendricks, Dermot Mulroney and Chris Colfer, who also wrote the script. Struck by Lightning is directed by Brian Dannelly and is out now in the US but has yet to be given an official release date in the UK.
