When British actress Sarah Jayne Dunn first graced UK television screens, in the hit soap Hollyoaks as Mandy Richardson, many expected her to go on to much bigger and better things. Sarah appeared in 257 episodes of Hollyoaks, between 1996 and 2011 but her career has had some high points along the way.
Following her success on Hollyoaks, Sarah Jayne Dunn decided to head to the US and pursue her dream of becoming a top Hollywood movie star. With her stunning good looks and her obvious acting talent, it was thought that it would only be a matter of time before she got her big break.
Sure enough, Sarah was given a small break, with a role in the huge 2008 Batman movie The Dark Knight, where she appeared as one of Maroni's mistresses. Unfortunately though, Sarah's career has stalled somewhat since then and she has had to settle for low-budget shorts.
Sarah Jayne Dunn can be seen in the short Boom in Shot, which is written and directed by passionate movie maker Jez Blackmore. The production values on the movie are obviously very low and a far cry from the big budget of The Dark Knight.
It is hard to put the finger on why Sarah Jayne Dunn has failed to make the breakthrough on the big scene but there is still time and she has the potential to still get to the top. Watch this space!
