The History Channel just keeps on impressing and amazing with its original television series, such as The Bible, Vikings, and Hatfields and McCoys, and it looks like they could have another one on the cards. The History Channel will bring us their new mini-series next year, titled Texas Rising, which has an all-star cast.
One of these all-star cast members is the beautiful and talented actress Sarah Jones, who has given us some impressive performances in some interesting projects over the years. With Texas Rising just around the corner, Sarah and co. will no doubt be excited to see what sort of response it gets.
For those of you who have not heard too much about Texas Rising, the mini-series will focus on the Texas legend Sam Houston and follow him in his battle for an independent Texas from the Mexican general Santa Anna. It is essentially the story of how the Texas Rangers were created.
History and H2 exec VP and general manager, Dirk Hoogstra revealed his excitement for the project, saying, "We’re ecstatic with what we’ve seen so far from production. I can’t think of a better way to kick off summer than with a big television event that’s sure to resonate with our fans."
As well as starring Sarah Jones, Texas Rising boasts a very impressive cast, including such names as Chad Michael Murray, Brendan Fraser, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Ray Liotta, Max Thieriot, Thomas Jane, Jake Busey, Crispin Glover, and Bill Paxton. Texas Rising is still preparing to begin filming but is set to premiere on the History Channel on Memorial Day, May 25.
