While Marvel is continuing to grow and grow, giving us some new big screen adaptations of some of their biggest and best comic book characters, they are also continuing to bring us more of the characters that we have already seen on the big screen. One of these characters, who has already appeared in a number of Marvel movies is Black Widow, played by actress Scarlett Johansson.
While Scarlett Johansson has appeared in the role of Black Widow in three Marvel movies to date and will reprise the role once again for the Avengers: Age of Ultron film, but she has yet to actually get her own stand-alone movie. There has been plenty of talk about a possible Black Widow stand-alone film and it looks like we could be getting ever closer to that actually becoming a reality, as Scarlett feels that with the fans backing it will eventually happen.
Johansson recently explained, "The great thing about working with Marvel is that they are really into the audience participation. If the audience wants to see a Black Widow movie then that conversation can certainly be opened up. I love playing that character, she has a wonderful depth and really interesting grey area. She has no moral compass. These are all things that I think would be interesting to explore for her own spin-off."
You can catch Scarlett Johansson in her latest outing as Black Widow in the Marvel movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which opens on March 26 in the UK, before then hitting the big screen in the US on April 4. Following that, Scarlett will reprise the role in the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron, which opens on May 1, 2015 in both the US and the UK.
