When you are a woman in Hollywood, you always have a lot more challenges to face than a man in the industry and there are a lot more obstacles that these women have to face. There are always a lot more interesting and challenging roles for men to take on and then there is the fact that women can fall pregnant, which will affect their career in a big way.
That is exactly the challenge that faces The Avengers actress Scarlett Johansson, who is expecting her first child with her fiance Romain Dauriac. There have been suggestions that Scarlett Johansson's pregnancy could affect her role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Scarlett has now opened up about becoming a mother and having to manage her acting career.
Johansson told WSJ Magazine, "There must exist a world in which I can balance those things, be able to raise a family and still make a film a year, or work on my own, develop things, do theater. I want to be able to have it all. Selfishly. I know that with that there will be some sacrifices. I know that’s the struggle with working mothers and successful careers. It happens."
As for her acting career, Scarlett Johansson stars in the movie Under the Skin, which sees her sharing the big screen with the likes of Paul Brannigan, Lidsey Taylor Mackay and Jessica Mance. Under the Skin is directed by Jonathan Glazer and is already out in the UK, while the movie will then hit the big screen in the US on April 4.
