When it was announced that Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson was pregnant with her first child, there was a lot of talk about how this pregnancy would affect her role as Black Widow in the new Marvel movie Avengers: Age of Ultron. Some suggested that she would be limited to small scenes in the film, while others even went as far as to suggest she would be replaced completely.
However, Joss Whedon and co. decided that the best way to deal with the Scarlett Johansson pregnancy was to give her some stunt doubles for her more action packed scenes. Scarlett had three stunt doubles on the set of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America star Chris Evans has admitted that he often got them all mistaken for one another.
Evans explained, "It's always funny. You walk by, 'Hey, Scarlett—oh, weird. You're not Scarlett at all. Sorry.' A lot of fake Scarletts around."
Meanwhile, Joss Whedon revealed the reasons why they decided to bring in so many stun doubles, "She's not going to spend the whole movie carrying groceries. We didn't trim any scenes. We're like, 'We'll make it work,'" he told Entertainment Weekly.
As well as Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Chris Evans as Captain America, we also have the return of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk. Avengers: Age of Ultron will open on April 24, 2015 in the UK, before then hitting the big screen in the US on May 1, 2015.
