Over the past few years we have been given some fantastic television shows to enjoy and some of the better shows have been brought to us from AMC, including their hit zombie television series The Walking Dead, which is approaching its fifth season on AMC. As well as preparing for The Walking Dead season five, there has also been plenty of talk about a The Walking Dead spinoff series.
Scott Gimple has been working on The Walking Dead since the second season of the show and he has admitted that he will be involved in The Walking Dead spinoff in some way. Scott also went on to touch on the possibility of a crossover between the two shows, stating that it was not something that he would rule out.
Gimple told Collider, "I have little to do with the spinoff… This I do know. It’s set in the world of The Walking Dead but from what I understand, it’s not like Daryl’s cousin or anything… I would never say never [to a crossover between the shows] because if I was a viewer I would say that sounds awesome. But we’re doing our own show."
He added, "I also think a crossover might be tough because it would take a lot of [license] within the comic story. We’ll see. When we get to all-out war, who knows? We’ll add another faction. It’ll be the Saviors and the Hilltop and the ‘Spin-offers’."
The Walking Dead season five will premiere on AMC on October 12. It is not yet known when we can expect to see The Walking Dead spinoff series but it is not likely to be until sometime in 2015.
