It has been reported that Selena Gomez has had to cancel her world tour dates in Russian, following her pro-gay rights stance. Selena is currently on her Stars Dance Tour and had two dates planned for Russia but has now been forced to cancel the shows.
Selena Gomez was due to perform on September 23 at the Ice Palace in St. Petersburg, and September 25 at Moscow's Olimpiisky Stadium. Her fans in Russia are now devastated that they will no longer be able to see their idol performing live in their own country.
This means that Selena Gomez will now have a short break in on her world tour, giving herself a nice little breather, which she will not be too upset about. The Stars Dance Tour will then continue on September 27 in Dubai, before she hits the US for the majority of October.
Fellow singer Lady Gaga recently hit out at Russia, posting on her Facebook account, "Sending bravery to LGBTs in Russia. The rise in government abuse is archaic. Hosing teenagers with pepper spray? Beatings? Mother Russia? The Russian government is criminal. Oppression will be met with revolution. Russian LGBTs you are not alone. We will fight for your freedom. Why didn't you arrest me when you had the chance, Russia? Because you didn't want answer to the world?"
