Singer and actress Selena Gomez is probably best known for her role on the hit television series The Wizards of Waverley Place, which was aimed at a young, teenage audience. However, Selena says that she wants to be involved in more grown up roles, such as her role in Spring Breakers, which she admits to finding a little awkward.

Gomez was talking at the South by Southwest Festival, when she explained, "To be honest I didn’t really have too many reservations, I had been a part of something (The Wizards of Waverley Place) that I have been super blessed to be a part of, I wanted to do something that would be different for me."
She added, “I think I can speak for the girls when I think we really wanted to push ourselves and we trusted Harmony to do that and James was super supportive through the process as well, and I think it was something that we’re very proud of and wanted to do."

Selena continued, “It’s kind of an awkward thing to mess with, the transition of doing what I used to do and wanting to do things like this so, I guess for me it’s a little awkward but I’m trying to do the best I can."
As well as starring Selena Gomez, Spring Breakers also stars Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine and James Franco. Spring Breakers has been written and directed by Harmony Korine and is released in the US on March 22 and on April 5 in the UK.
